Bryggerhuset is the pilot brewery for Aass, Norway’s oldest brewery. It is still in the same building owned by the same family since 1834. When designing the identity and packaging we wanted to capture the sense of history, expertise and beauty of one of the most incredible breweries of its type in the world. Some of these beers are so bespoke and created with such skill, that the master brewer will work with individual chefs to create a single barrel of beer to pair with a specific dish.
We designed a flexible colour-coded branding system that helped navigate the vast world of beers and left room for special editions and collaborations, from beer aged in cognac barrels shipped from France, to cans with thermochromic ink that change colour when they are chilled to the correct temperature.
